Rebecca Shwartz MD, FAAP
Dr. Becky Shwartz joined Renton Pediatrics in August 2015. Dr. Shwartz is originally from Connecticut, but moved to Washington in 2012 to complete her pediatric residency through the University of Washington at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her prior studies include a biology and public health bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University, followed by medical school at Tufts University in Boston.
Dr. Shwartz’s professional interests include developmental behavioral pediatrics, preventative care, and supporting new mothers and lactating caregivers with breastfeeding. In particular, she enjoys advocating for children with special healthcare needs and working to improve access to Early Intervention and special education services within King County. Dr. Shwartz started Renton Pediatrics’ Reach Out and Read chapter, which provides free books to children at checkups from six months to five years. She also serves on the Puget Sound Educational Service District’s Health Services Advisory Committee as a community advisor, and as a MedFest Clinical Director for Special Olympics Washington.
In her free time, Dr. Shwartz enjoys getting outdoors with her husband whether it be skiing, hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering, road or mountain biking. She is hoping to get her young daughter interested in the same activities someday.
Dr. Shwartz is board-certified in pediatrics and is accepting new patients. She currently works in our Renton Office on Tuesdays and in the Kent Office on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
