A caduceus (pronounced like ka doo see us) is a symbol for various medical organizations, including the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

The caduceus is a winged staff entwined with two serpents.  A staff is a stick, entwined means wrapped around and a serpent is a snake. So, a caduceus is a stick with wings and two snakes wrapped around it.

In Greek mythology, the caduceus was carried by a guy named Hermes and was also associated with Aesculapius, the god of healing in Roman mythology.
